Contributing to NPS account is a very easy and seamless process. For convenience and ease of access, Subscribers can contribute to NPS accounts using the following available options:

Steps to Contribute Online via eNPS Website:

  • Visit eNPS website (https://enps.nsdl.com)
  • Click on 'Contribution' Tab
    (If you are contributing through NPS account Log-in, select ‘Contribute Online’ under ‘Transact Online’ Tab, you will be redirected to eNPS portal.)
  • You will be required to enter Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN), and Date of Birth
  • Select the option (SMS / email) on which you wish to receive OTP in order to Verify PRAN
  • Add and enter captcha as displayed and click on ‘Verify PRAN’. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number / email address (whichever is selected)
  • Once the OTP is entered and PRAN is verified, select the account to which contribution will be made (Tier I or Tier II) and mention the contribution amount
  • After entering the contribution details, system will calculate the total amount payable after adding applicable charges*
  • Select the payment gateway option, read and accept the declarations and click on ‘Make Payment’

You will be redirected to the payment gateway site. From thereon you can contribute through net banking / debit card / credit card

Payments via UPI:
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time payment system works by instantly transferring funds from a mobile platform. With a UPI-enabled bank account, you can simply create a UPI ID which can be used to send/ transfer money.

Steps for Activating UPI:

  • Download the UPI application from the App Store/Banks website
  • Register UPI ID (VPA) of your choice e.g., abc@upi
  • Set MPIN for authentication of transaction
  • Link the bank and account number with the VPA

Contribution in NPS using UPI:

  • User has to select UPI as mode of payment option. Payment through your UPI is only upto Rs.2000/-(Including Charges).
  • Provide the Virtual Payment Address (VPA)
  • Payment notification will be received on UPI application
  • User has to login to UPI application and confirm the transaction within the defined time limit
  • User needs to enter the MPIN to authenticate the transaction

Steps to Contribute using Mobile App:

  • Download the NPS Mobile App from Google Play Store using the given link
  • You can do the contribution transaction even without logging in to the App
  • Enter Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN), date of birth, captcha and click on ‘Verify PRAN’
  • An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number / email address
  • Once the OTP is entered and PRAN is verified, select the account to which contribution will be made (Tier I or Tier II) and mention the contribution amount
  • After entering the contribution details, system will calculate the total amount payable after adding applicable charges*
  • Select the payment gateway option, read and accept the declarations and click on ‘Make Payment’.
  • You will be redirected to the payment gateway site. From thereon you can contribute through net banking /debit card / credit card.

Steps to Contribute through POP-SP

  • Download the NPS Contribution Instruction Slip (NCIS) from our website http://bit.ly/2ICLtax
  • Fill all the necessary details given in the form and submit the same to the POP-SP along with Cheque / DD
  • Once the form is submitted, the POP-SP will give you an acknowledgement receipt, which can be used for tracking of contribution

Important Points to Note:

  • Contributions through eNPS are credited to your NPS Account on T+2 basis (subject to receipt of clear funds from Payment Gateway Service Provider)
  • Once the units are credited to your NPS account, an SMS and email alert will be sent to you
  • You can contribute a maximum of Rs. 2,000 at a time using debit card
  • Minimum contribution amount is Rs. 500 for Tier I account and Rs. 250 for Tier II account
  • *For contributions made via eNPS POP Service Charges will be applicable on the contribution amount @ 0.10% (subject to minimum of ₹ 10 and maximum of ₹ 10,000 per transaction). This service charge will not be applicable for subscribers registered in eNPS.
  • *For Subscriber using the following mode of payment the charges are mentioned below:-
    • Credit Card 0.90% of Transaction Amount + Service Tax.
    • Debit Card 0.80% of Transaction Amount + Service Tax.
    • Net Banking of Banks 60 Paisa per Transaction + Service Tax.
