Do all banks allow NACH mandate registration?

No. All banks do not allow NACH mandate registration. Nodal Office is requested to get in touch with their respective bank.

Can debit instruction from Trustee Bank be rejected/failed?

Debit instruction initiated by Trustee Bank processed through NACH mandate can be rejected due to following reasons

  1. Technical Reasons like connectivity issue, failure of validations due to system issues etc.
  2. Insufficient Funds – Debit mandate instruction can be rejected incase the available balance in the bank account of Nodal Office is less than amount of Transaction ID uploaded
  3. Transaction ID correction by Nodal Offices – Any correction w.r.t amount in Transaction ID post initiation of debit instruction by Trustee Bank may lead to rejection of instruction.

In such a scenario where transactions are rejected, Nodal Office is required to initiate transfer of funds as per the normal laid down process.

What frequency and amount to be set during mandate registration?

At the time of Mandate Registration, Nodal Office needs to provide frequency of transaction and limit of maximum debit amount. As debit instruction will be initiated by Trustee Bank only after upload of TID by Nodal Office and as frequency (Date of TID upload) & TID amount may vary every month, Nodal offices are requested to select frequency as “As and when presented” and “maximum amount (i.e. 1 Cr.) “ for maximum limit of debit amount per transaction.
